Siouxland Soldiers Respond

Dear Heroes from the Homefront!
I just received a care package from your organization and I wanted to extend the thanks of my entire unit as they all found something they liked in the package. I am really proud of what you are doing and I know that your care packages mean a lot to the soldiers over here. In my 14 months in Afghanistan I have found that there are a number of soldiers here who do not get any mail and it is these types of soldiers that I share your packages with. It is organizations like yours back home that make me proud to fight over here. Please keep up the excellent support, you are truly making a difference. All the Way!

I am PFC Wesley martin and my unit is 2-30 IN BN 4 DIV 10 MTN BDE. I'm writing this letter to let you know that we really enjoy the care packages that you send our way(myself and battle buddies). Words may never be able to express the gratitude that we feel. We appreciate and acknowledge the fact that it is on a volunteer basis and that you take the time out of your daily lives is not lost on us. In fact I guess you could say that it makes it that more special to us. Anyways I just wanted to take a little of my time and pay you the same respect that you've shown us and to thank you for the great things you do.
Sincerely, PFC Martin

Patriots, Thank you for the two care packages I have received since I have been deployed. It is a great feeling when I tell my buddies that the package came from my hometown community. Knowing that there is a community that supports the fight for freedom really keeps the morale up and assures us that people know we truely are doing what is necessary. God Bless America! - ANDERSEN, RUSSELL M., MSG, SF, Operations Sergeant, B/5/19TH SFG(A)

I would like to thank everyone for the packages, cards, letters and prayers that I recieved during the holidays. I wish I could thank everyone personally. I cant wait to be home and see you all to thank you. I'm doing well and staying safe. It is nice to hear from people back home and makes my day everytime. Again thank you very much. God bless you all
SPC Dillion Naslund, Iraq

I just wanted to send an email to say thank you for the box that was sent to me. It just reminds me that what I'm doing over here is appreciated by those back home. Seeing the things that the kids made and the things they wrote was really motivating. You guys are doing a really great thing by sending boxes over seas to soldiers. So again thank you so much. - PFC Moseley, November

There is not enough words to express the graditude to you and this organization for the packages and well wishes. Please know that all the work your organization does is greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work. If there is anything we can do for you let me know. -Perrin, Jeffrey T. CPT

I wanted to send a personal Thank You for the care packages that you have sent to me and the other Soldiers in my Squad. The level of support is incredible and believe me, that is felt by the Soldiers who recieve care packages from your organization. It is a great feeling to know that those left behind at home, the front lines, are standing together to let the Soldiers know that they are supported, loved, and definately not forgotten. Your outstanding support of our entire Troop is truly a credit to each and every person who has contributed to this effort. Again, Thank you. With Regards, SSG Rob Hawkins

My son, Eric Sitzmann, is stationed in Iraq with the United States Marines. He wanted me to pass his thanks onto your organization for the packages that he has received. Anything from home is so appreciated by him. Thank you from both of us.

Just a quick note to thank your group for the care packages and your continued love and support.  Your thoughtfulness and generosity are greatly appreciated.  Thanks again for all you do.Warm Regards, Spc. Lucas Beenken

thank you very much for the care package, I really enjoyed it, it gave me a smile when I opened it. I didn't see a return address for the young man that sent me the letter I wanted to write him back. That is such a great idea... and very thoughtful, you support is greatly appreciated. thanks again! SPC Knaack

Thank you very much for the care-packages. Your support is greatly appreciated by all of us. When the boxes were delivered it was like Christmas thanks for boosting our spirits.

To All, I would like to personally thank you for the package that you sent me. When a soldier receives a package or letter it is very humbling to get a little piece of home. I am very proud to be here defending Siouxland and the United States! I truly wish siouxlanders could see the jobs that the American men and women of the Armed forces are doing here. This is my second tour in 3 years as a reservist and I can truly say that Iraq is getting alot safer. I truly thank you for the support you have shown me and other soldiers during this time when we are away from the ones we love. I would like to add a photo if I may, to your album of me in Al Habbaniyah, Iraq. Take care Siouxland and God bless!
Your Soldier in Iraq, Petty Officer 1ST Class, Shaun M. Smith, US Navy Seabees

I just wanted to start by saying thank you so much. It means so much getting boxes, letters & cards from people back home. I just wanted to fill you in on what we are doing over here. Some of our troop is doing security for distinguished visitors when they come over. The part that I work in is in the hotel, we house celebrities or high ranking officials when they come over. I love my job and what we do over here. It does mean a lot to me and my fellow soldiers when we get things, like care packages, cards and letters. Thanks for all your hard work and time in gathering goodies and putting the boxes together! Thanks again for the care packages you sent us! Sincerely, SPC Nicholas Wurth

I would just like to extend my sincere thank you for the packages that your organization has sent to the soldiers here in Iraq.  I am sure that you all have been told already how much they mean to us here.  Thank you so much or your patronage. Sgt Thomas Hengeveld

Thank you for the great package I received here on F.O.B. Kala Gush in the eastern province of Nuristan on the Pakistan border. There were some sweat socks in there that I really needed along with many other great things including some great Iowa beef sticks. We don't have regular access to buy things and it was great to receive the package. Siouxland Rocks. -LT Ken Vander Molen, Civil Affairs

I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you've done for us out here. I truly appreciate everything that you do for those of us that are out here on deployment away from those we love.  It's great to see that a lot of different organizations are getting involved with this program and I'd like to also thank the American Red Cross Youth Group and those individuals from Bemidji State University that have made my life that much better by letting me know that there are a lot of people back home who care.
